A Republic transport, carrying among its cargo a ZR-57 orbital strike bomb, crashed in northern Avilatan six days ago. Recovery unit sent a team, but they were too late - Separatist forces | Mantellian SeparatistsOrganizationPlanetary and Sector | had already stolen the transport's cargo, including the ZR-57, and fled. Bazren added that the bomb could easily vaporize whole Avilatan island. Tavus said that they were investigating several leads to the bomb's location, and he wanted Meteor to follow one of them - a Republic spy named Bellis | Bellis(Human)CharacterMinor Characters (TOR) | . Bellis reported making an important discovery, but wasn't able to provide full report - Tavus wanted Meteor to rendezvous with Bellis in a nearby village called Talloran and find out what he had discovered, then return to the base immediately. He warned that Talloran was separatist-controlled territory and armed resistance was to be expected. Before Meteor could go on with the mission, Tavus lastly introduced Lieutenant Aric Jorgan | Aric Jorgan(Cathar)CharacterSupporting Characters | , from the Republic's Ord Mantell Infantry Command, who would oversee the mission through the camera mounted on Meteor's armor and provide intel when necessary. Jorgan also made it clear that he was in charge and his orders were to be followed without question. Meteor pointed out that Commander Tavus - not a Lieutenant - was a CO, but Tavus retorted that Lieutenant Jorgan was a superior officer and he had expected Meteor to show him the same respect as the Commander. Meteor complied and left the Command Center.Outside the Command Center Meteor met with Voidhound | VoidhoundCharacterMajor Characters | and they agreed to work as a team. They checked public Central Authority | Ord Mantell Central AuthorityOrganizationPlanetary and Sector | terminal. They learned from the Ord Mantell military database that Military Intelligence had recently learned of the location of two Separatist safe houses at Talloran that were being used to pass on military secrets. The Ord Mantell Authority requested that the safe houses be neutralized. She admitted that she did indeed steal the medkits for a refugees - but then the Separatists from Talloran had taken the supplies from her - and she asked Meteor and Voidhound to bring the supplies back to her instead of Hurd. They reached the Mantellian Army checkpoint at the entrance, passed through it, and entered the village, guns blazing. They killed many Separatists, working together as a team to complete thr common missions they took along the way. Then they separated to take on personal tasks.Meteor reached the place where Bellis was supposed to be waiting, but found his corpse instead. Frustrated, Meteor contacted Lieutenant Jorgan via holocom and reported the situation. Jorgan was outraged and chastised the sergeant for not being fast enough. But then he said that if Bellis followed procedures, then he should have left a coded recording of his discovery in his field box, hidden somewhere inside his home. He warned that if the Separatists already knew that Bellis was a spy, they would try to ambush and capture anyone who came to meet Bellis.Meteor located Bellis's house and went inside. On the second floor of the building Meteor encountered Lin | Lin(Human)CharacterMinor Characters (TOR) | , Bellis' wife. When Lin found the sergeant inside her home, she first believed that the individual was a Separatist soldier breaking into her house. However, she soon realized her mistake, and rebuked the sergeant for risking the discovery of her husband's job as a spy. Then the sergeant informed her about the death of Bellis, which upset Lin greatly, and caused her to become enraged at the Republic and the sergeant, both of whom she blamed for the death of Bellis. Due to her anger over her husband's death, Lin initially refused to give the sergeant Bellis's field box.The sergeant expressed condolences to Lin over the death of the Bellis and attempted to persuade Lin to hand over her husband's field box, saying that Bellis would want the Republic to have the information and that there were many lives at stake. For a short time, Lin continued to conceal the location of the field box despite the sergeant's entreaties. However, Lin eventually showed the sergeant its location in her home at which time the sergeant advised her to leave Talloran before the Separatists attacked her home, then left Lin to grieve for her husband. As the Meteor descended back to the ground floor, a group of Separatists jumped out of the ambush, but were quickly defeated.Meteor reunited with the Voidhound and before returning to Fort Garnik, together they completed their shared tasks - returned the camouflaged comm device to SIS | Strategic Information Service (SIS)OrganizationGalactic Republic (GGW, CW and GW) | agent Ebenga | Ebenga(Arcona)CharacterMinor Characters (TOR) | , put a secret Separatist network inside and outside the village out of comission, and recoved stolen medicine. As they returned to Fort Garnik, they parted ways again and Meteor went to the Republic Command Center.Read more... |
